Hello and welcome to the web-site for Green Oak Publishing, the name for which was chosen because of Linda Esther Gray's life-long association with her home town Greenock in Scotland. The town is said to be called after a green oak tree which grew in the town centre and, as you can see from the photo taken by Peter McCrorie, is situated on the banks of the beautiful River Clyde.

Green Oak Publishing is a small company set up in 2007 by Linda Esther Gray to enable the publication of her autobiography, A Life Behind Curtains. The company then published Can We All Sing? a fun singing manual, illustrated by Caroline Finlayson and written by Linda. Justin Spain designed both books and this happy association continued in Green Oak's third project, the first biography of Dame Eva Turner, A Life on the High Cs researched and written by Linda and designed by Justin. The book is accompanied by an exclusive cd The Opera World of Dame Eva Turner produced by Nimbus Records.

Robert Hendra has generously sponsored and financed this project. Bob was born in America but lived in London for many years and has now settled in Cornwall where he has strong family roots.

Green Oak’s latest project is Linda’s first fictional book and is a psychological mystery set in the world of opera.

All four books are now available for sale from this site.
